Frequently Asked Questions

(FAQ) Here are some answers to some frequently asked questions that you may be wondering about. If you have any additional questions please feel free to message me and I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

1. How quickly will my items ship?
A: Typically within 1-2 business days, unless otherwise noted on the item you are purchasing. I try to keep accurate processing times for all of my listings. If you need something more quickly you can choose an upgraded shipping option but also message me and I will let you know what I can do.

2. How are the items restored?
A. Some of the vintage items I handle are in great condition already and just need a gentle cleaning, and some need further restoration. I always use the most gentle options first, and then move on to more intensive methods as necessary, always being careful not to alter the way the item is meant to look. My goal is always to have items look as close as possible to brand new! I mostly use professional toy/doll cleaning products as well as some more common household cleaners depending on what is needed.

3. Are the Strawberry Shortcake items still scented?
A. Everyone remembers vintage Strawberry Shortcake items for their wonderful scents they had in the 1980s. This is one of the reasons I love SSC so much, because the smells were such a great part of the experience! Unfortunately, after 40ish years, most of them do lose their scent. If an item is scented, I carefully clean it so that the scent remains. I also offer the option to have the dolls re-scented using fragrance oils that you can also purchase in a DIY application kit.

4. How will my items be packaged and shipped?
A. I am known for very carefully packing items, and I tend to go overboard on protection for anything that is possibly breakable! I typically use bubble wrap and air bags for the best protection, and many of my items are packaged in a clear bag before they are packed to ship. For the most part I use new boxes, but in some instances, especially with larger items, I do reuse boxes that may be from other companies; however, I ensure they are sturdy and in good shape to protect your items, and I always try to at least make the box look a bit nicer with some scrapbook paper on top. No one wants to receive an "ugly" looking package in the mail! Some smaller items such as mini figurines may ship in a small bubble mailer that offers adequate protection for those as well. Cards and stickers are shipped in flat rigid mailers to ensure they are not bent or wrinkled when they arrive.
