DOLL KIT OPTION:  Do you have vintage Strawberry Shortcake Dolls that have lost their scent? Bring back even more childhood memories with these hand picked scented oils from Dolly Magic Studio! This complete kit includes everything you need to easily “re-scent” your dolls! Kit includes fragrance oil, adhesive felt pads and full instructions with photos.

There is now a new method to scent your dolls and protect them as well! Our new wool felt pad method which is included in all of the kits and is a great option for easily refreshing the scent. The felt pads are a very specific thickness, material (merino wool) and color, and have a lightly adhesive backing so that they can be applied on the scalp (hidden in the hair) or under the hairline on the back of the head to stay hidden. The felt pads come in a light skin color and also brown to match Orange Blossom. Please follow instructions carefully - only a few drops of oil are needed on each felt strip (depending on how large you cut it) and should not be over saturated. The pads are thick enough to hold the oil without it leaking or seaping through to the vinyl/plastic head of your doll.

There are 21 scents available, custom blended to be the best smelling and/or closest to the dolls’ original scent. A great deal of time and money has been spent testing many different types and these are what I believe to be truest to the original - HOWEVER, everyone's nose is a bit different (why some people like or hate a certain perfume for example) so they may smell a little different to you than someone else. Most customers have agreed overwhelmingly that these are exactly or a very close match to the originals. Also please note that the smell will be a little different once it breathes and dries on the doll/felt vs smelling it while still in the bottle. Sometimes a scent can smell too concentrated in the bottle but comes out very nicely once applied - if you are unsure, you can try a few drops on one of the pads and let it sit for a bit before you smell it and decide to apply.

Please note these are fragrance oils, NOT essential oils. They are only meant for scenting the dolls, and any other use of them should be at your own risk/discretion. They are "skin safe" but only when diluted at the appropriate percentages with other ingredients.

The scented oil comes in a leakproof miniature glass bottle with dropper. You will receive approximately 2 milliliters of scented oil, which is enough to scent two dolls and still have a little leftover. You will only need around 6-8 TOTAL per doll drops depending on how strong you want the scent. The scent does not last forever, and will fade with time depending on how much is applied, how strong the scent is, and how the doll is stored (anywhere from 1 - 6 months) You can use the leftover oil and felt pads to reapply as needed.

These are the same scents I use if you select a doll from my shop and choose to have it scented.

****DISCLAIMER: When used per the instructions with our felt pads, I have not found fragrance oils to cause any damage to vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls. I have tested these for over a year and found no discoloration or other issues. I have not tested this on other dolls. However, please note that this is a DIY process and therefore I am not responsible for any potential damage to the doll. Please follow instructions carefully - they are simple but important to follow properly. Although scented oils are generally safe and non toxic, do not use the scented oils if you have extremely sensitive skin, and always use proper gloves. I am not responsible for any skin reactions. Oils are not for consumption, please keep out of reach from pets and children. Also please note that scenting the doll could potentially affect their value for some collectors (if you wish to resell them at a later time) and that is a personal decision for each doll owner to make. For me personally, the scent was one of the best parts of these dolls, and being able to bring that experience back is something I highly value!
